Vintage wood panels
And doors that stick,
An ocean breeze flows through,
Inviting us in.
We gasp with delight at the view from
Room 37
Hand in hand we wander
Barefoot and free.
Footprints and cares
Washed away in the surf.
No luxurious distractions,
Entertainment or noise,
Just water and sand.
You & me.
The crash of the waves
Soothes my busy mind,
Coaxing my soul out of hiding.
Here all of me reaches
for all of you.
Connecting, resting,
Wrapped in laughter and
Sunlit peace.
The days slip quietly by.
When the sun sets on our sea side escape
And reality calls us back,
With a smile, a sigh,
And a lingering backward glance
We leave our ocean retreat.
Eager for the next time
We open the faded pink door,
Gasping with delight
at the view
from room 37.
